Whiplash

Real
Name: Mark Michael
Scarlotti
Aliases: Blacklash, Mark Scott
Group
Affiliation:
B-Team; Death Squad; Maggia; operative of Justin Hammer
History: As a Maggia weapons designer, Mark
Scarlotti desired a greater challenge and thus became the costumed field agent
Whiplash, who initially fought Iron Man to a standstill. Sometime later, Whiplash infiltrated Stark
International as Mark Scott, and eventually clashed with Iron Man again, though
he managed to escape. Later still,
Scarlotti had his arsenal updated by criminal financier Justin Hammer and
renamed himself Blacklash. Often
operating as part of Hammer's B-Team, Blacklash continually met defeat at the
hands of Iron Man. Eventually Scarlotti
revived his Whiplash identity, taking on a more S&M motif, and with even
more advanced weaponry, accepted a contract on Tony Stark, though he was again
defeated by Iron Man. Returning for a
rematch, Whiplash was killed by Iron Man's sentient armor.
Paraphernalia: Whiplash wielded two
cybernetically-controlled whips with various capabilities, including conversion
to nunchakus or vaulting poles, anti-gravity bolas, ability to channel energy
charges, and presumably others uncatalogued.
His costume was composed of bulletproof fabric. Toward the end of his career, Whiplash used
a flying platform whose exact capabilities are unknown.
