Another David Michelinie-created great, the Ghost is an industrial saboteur and an assassin who hates all rich industrialists and capitalists. Although he accepts large sums of money to accomplish his acts of industrial sabotage, he would gladly do the same for free as money is of no importance to him, only a means to an end. The battlesuit he wears allows him to become intangible and invisible at will, but never at the same time. Stark became embroiled with the Ghost when he acquired a little company called Accutech, which was in dire financial difficulty. Stark believed that the new generator they were developing would make his investment flourish. He bought the firm without knowing that it was being harassed by the Ghost. When Iron Man got in the Ghost’s way, he vowed to assassinate Tony Stark. To protect himself against an enemy who could come out of a wall or a floor at any moment, Stark was reduced to sleeping in his own armor.

The Ghost reappeared in volume 3 Iron Man as an agent of Advanced Idea Mechanics (A.I.M.). He fell victim to Stark's Ultron-enhanced heart when he tried to reach into Stark's chest and grab his pumper.

We finally got a glimpse of the Ghost (and learned his real ID?) in the Iron Man: The Inevitable limited series. He was employed by the new Spymaster to free the Living Laser from Stark's company. Despite defeat by IM, he remains at large.

The Ghost is truly one of the Golden Avenger’s most dangerous and resourceful enemies.

First ever & IM appearance: Iron Man  #219.
