Stark International London Branch Security
Chief Tom Wilkins apparently
was suffering from paranoid schizophrenia.
So, as a result, he took on the identity of Endotherm
by snatching Stark inventions that were heat and
cold-related. As Stark himself traveled to London
to investigate these thefts, he had no idea that Wilkins himself was behind
them. Stark-as-Iron Man
tussled with Endotherm, lost one battle but then ultimately won and discovered
Endotherm's real ID.
Iron Man scribe extraordinaire David Michelinie revealed that Endo was actually the creation of
Peter John Palmer (credited with the issue's
plot). Alan Weiss had fully penciled Endo's 17-page story, but neither Palmer
nor a fully-written plot could be found anywhere -- only the villain's name and
some margin notes.
First ever & IM appearance: Iron Man #136.
