Black Lama Print E-mail

Whoa -- what a scary name, eh? The Black Lama was actually King Jerald, an alternate Earth counterpart of President Gerald Ford! On his Earth, North America consists of dozens of tiny monarchies with nifty names like "The Kingdom of Grand Rapids." Jerald had used his inter-dimensional transporter to journey to Iron Man's Earth, but this action drove him insane! As a result, he went around offering different super-villains the "Golden Globe of Power" if they would only prove their worthiness by eliminating one another! (The "War of the Super-Villains.")

Usually sensible bad-guys like the Mandarin actually fell for this, but reliable baddies like Doc Doom told Lama where to shove that Golden Globe. Jerald eventually made it back to his own Earth, tailed by Shellhead and Firebrand. The latter two battled it out on Jerald's Earth while trying to preserve their own sanity (IM #80-81).

First ever & IM appearance:  Iron Man #53.
