Battle Armor Mark 1 Print E-mail
Armor Specs: Battle Armor Mark I

Nickname: Prototype Iron Man armor
Designer: Tony Stark
Worn By: Ayisha and various army officers
Appeared:  Iron Man vol.3 #50

Design Notes:

Shell Composition: The armor's circuits were coated with titanium to prevent them from getting damaged. The outer shell had thick titanium plates that are coated with kevlar. But the wearer's body was not fully protected because the armor only had partial titanium plating unlike Iron Man's armor which fully protects him.

Power Source and Energy Information:  The armor's computer and D.C. motors are powered by the electrical aura of the man who wears it. The more active the man is, the more power the suit has.

Control Systems Interface:  Cybernetic Interface and Battle Computer.

Weaponry:  None.

Life Support Equipment:  The armor injected drugs into the wearer such as: morphine, antibiotics, adrenaline, amphetamines -- anything it took to bring the wearer up to "speed" (see notes).

Notes:
The armor was designed by Tony Stark for the soldier of the 21st century. He also programmed it with a single command: to survive at all costs. But the armor reacted faster than a man so Tony Stark realized something had to be done. And the answer was drugs. The telemetry readings were processed by the C.P.U. which controlled delivery of a pharmaceutical cocktail designed to enhance reaction, endurance, and resistance to pain -- whatever it took to bring a man up to speed and keep him there. But there was a glitch: Tony Stark forgot about the man inside and the armor didn't care. It was programmed to numb the pain and juice his system with whatever it took to keep him fighting, no matter how badly the wearer was injured.... until he died on his feet.

(Once again, thanks to Paul Livingston for his contribution!!)
