Bob & Dave Return to Iron Man in "Legacy of Doom"

There's big news for long-time Iron Man fans who believe the glory days for the character were back when Bob Layton and David Micheline were writing/drawing the stories. One of the more popular stories Bob and Dave came up with was sending Iron Man and Dr. Doom back to the era of King Arthur and Camelot.

They did this first in Iron Man (vol.1) #149 & #150 and then again 100 issues later in #249 & #250 . A while after the second story had been published they mentioned that it would be great if they could finish it up as a trilogy.

They're finally getting their chance in the upcoming Iron Man story: Legacy of Doom.

The story will begin in present-day in the Iron Man universe with Tony Stark as director of S.H.E.I.L.D. but will take place in flashback form with Tony wearing the post Armor Wars armor .

According to Comic Book Resources, Iron Man and Dr. Doom's adventure will span the globe and alternate dimensions. In an interview with them, David Micheline says: "There's a prologue that takes place at Tony Stark's current business headquarters, but the bulk of the story goes from outer space to Latveria to Scotland, oh, and to Hell."

It is being written by Bob Layton and David Micheline, with pencil artwork by Ron Lim and signature inks by Bob Layton.
