IRON MAN vol. 3 #88 (433) Print E-mail
(Nov. 2004)  "The Singularity, part 3."  Cover art: Pat Lee.  Script: Mark Ricketts. Art: Tony Harris/Tom Feister, Charles Wallace.  Who -- or what -- ever's in the armor is beating the living crap out of Stark until, thankfully, a news helicopter shows up to grant 'ol Tony a brief respite. He manages to snag a spare set of armor, but is unable to completely suit up (or, as his suit's computer informs him, "Tessellation disrupted!"). He nevertheless joins the battle against his armored opponent sans all-important face mask. Elsewhere, Pepper shows Happy the "nerve center" of Stark Enterprises and hatches a plan to assist their boss. Stark's scuffle with his enemy then takes a turn for the worst ... and at last his foe reveals himself! It is ...

Hube's Recommendation:  1/2 repulsors!

Fan Reaction:  Since Marvel just seems to care about their own history these days, I expect the mystery baddy at the end of 88 to be Morgan Stark, Tony's favorite relative.  Reading Avengers series has only brought one moment of Iron Glory into my life, and that was when Shellhead layed She- Hulk out.  And another thing. In 88 when Tony doesn't have his face plate on, don't you think his face would be a bloody pulp after getting pummeled with his own gauntlets.  Maybe he put that money to use and laced his skeleton with adamantium.  But anyway, I'm pumped for Essential #2 due out in November and the reprint of Cap/IM TOS.
