IRON MAN vol. 3 #12 Print E-mail

(Jan., 1999) "Spoils of War!"  Cover art: Sean Chen. Script: Kurt Busiek. Art: Patrick Zircher/Larry Mahlstedt.  It's Iron Man and Warbird vs. the brand spanking-new War Machine!! Well, actually, he's not that new -- his armor is identical to the very first WM armor worn by Tony in IM #281 (which keen-eyed fans will notice, and determine then that it could not be the one lost by Rhodey!). Is it Stark-armor, however?? A "negator pack" (remember those?) has no effect! Jim Rhodes seems to recognize the voice behind the WM armor and sets off on an investigation. Later, Hank Pym fills Tony in on some disturbing news: his armor is killing him!!
Hube's Recommendation:  repulsors!

Fan Reaction:  In the War Machine III (Parnell Jacobs) you point out how it cannot be Rhodey's time lost armour as it does not have a uni-beam. The new War Machine armour is a re-creation of the War Machine suit built by Stuart Clarke, that is why the Negator Pack did not work on the suit. While Parnell has the recreation suit Sunset Bain or Clarke must be in possesion of the original Stark built model. Sorry if you alreay knew this but I felt I had to point it out. -- This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
