IRON MAN #5: Print E-mail

Iron Man #5
Cover Art: George Tuska

(Sept., 1968)

"Frenzy in a Far Flung Future!"

Script: Archie Goodwin

Art: George Tuska/Johnny Craig

Tony is transported into the 24th century to stand trial for inventing and building a super-computer named Cerebrus. Cerebrus has taken control of the world and is trying to annihilate the human race. Tony is without his armor. He escapes with the help of a beautiful woman historian; she takes him to a museum where a suit of armor is on display. Tony puts it on and fights Cerebrus. After a brief fight Tony reveals himself to Cerebrus, who realizes he can't destroy Tony without destroying himself. During this period of indecision the historian throws a blast pellet into the computer's banks, destroying Cerebrus. She then sends Tony back to the exact instant that he left. This issue is one of my all time favorites.

Appearances: Iron Man (Tony Stark), 1&D:Cerebrus (destroyed), 1:Krylla
Geary Bee's Recommendation:  repulsors!
