Excluding comic books, what is everyone reading right now?
Me, I have 4 books in various stages of being read:
High Steel - by Jim Rasenberger - Beautiful account of the lives of the iron workers who created the New York City skyline.
Founding Fathers, Secret Societies - by Robert Hieronimus, Ph.D - Gripping research into the founding of the United States and secret societies like the Freemasons and Illuminati.
Great Lakes Shipwrecks & Survivals - by William Ratigan - A wonderful chronicle on the most spectacular shipwrecks on the Great Lakes.
Neverwhere - by Neil Gaiman - Good novel with interesting characterizations. I keep this one in the car and read it whenever I'm waiting for an appointment or something.

I can only really read (well, the stuff I wanna read) during the summer. I'll be starting this one for my English class (1 of 10!): The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time - by Mark Haddon - Book from the perspective of an autistic teen who is trying to solve who killed his neighbor's dog. Books I plan to read this upcoming summer thus far: The Great Dune Trilogy - by Frank Herbert - Dune, Messiah Dune, and Children of Dune in one fat novel. Read a good portion of Dune but was unable to finish due to classes starting up. American Psycho - by Bret Easton Ellis - I recently saw the movie and thought the main character was hilarious, a yuppie serial killer who is pretty much an unreliable narrator due to being out of his friggin' mind.

Soul Drinkers Omnibus- by Ben Counter. it's a Warhammer 40k novel and a pretty itneresting universe, very dark and gothic/archaic. It's a collection of three books but I am enjoying it. It's a bit hard to briefly explain the Warhammer 40k universe, so if you're intrigued try wikipedia.
Dark Elf Trilogy- by RA Salvatore. really havent gotten into this book that much, fantasy just doesnt do it for me really though I love scifi.
next up: Either the Ultramarines Omnibus (another Warhammer 40k book) or The Rookie by Shawna Richer about Sidney Crosby's rookie season.

Currently reading:
Star Wars: Legacy of the Force: Inferno - Although I don't like how dark and depressing these books have gotten, the series which chronicles the war between Luke Skywalker and Jacen Solo (Han and Leia's kid) is engaging.
Woken Furies by Richard K. Morgan - From the writer of the recent Black Widow mini's, these sci-fi detective novels mix cyberpunk with classic film noir. The first book, Altered Carbon, was amazing.

Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card - I just started this tonight, so I don't have much to comment on just yet. I'm almost ashamed to admit that I've never read it before, considering how often I've had it recommended to me over the years.

Don't be ashamed. I'm an avid sci-fi reader and only first read the book 2 or 3 years ago when I got it for x-mas. Excellent book. I also have some of the sequels but haven't got around to reading them yet.

I can't read Star Wars novels anymore, Timothy Zahn (and I suppose Michael Stackpole) have been the only author(s) who I've felt have written good quality stories and generated some memorable characters, especially Zahn. Ever since they killed Chewie and had the Vong War, I no longer have an interest in any of the novels.

I was tempted to give them up after that and the horrible Dark Nest Trilogy that followed but the Legacy series is just too darn interesting. The Luke \ Jacen dynamic and its effect on Han, Leia, and Ben (Luke's kid) has a very OT trilogy feel about it. Also, this latest book showcases the bada$$ Luke is when he is determined and not holding back. I'd recommend it (its only 9 books) but I'm not sure about how accessible it is if you haven't read the Vong or Nest books. It is worth a shot though.

I was really interested in the Vong war until Star by Star when they killed off Anakin and both Jaina and Jacen lived. I cannot stand either of these two. I was reading other things, and knowing there was no way I could catch up to the book being written, I looked at spoilers for the latest saga, and what I read basically killed any and all interest I had for the Star Wars books. Sucks cause I love the Star Wars universe too.

I read every night before falling asleep, mostly non-fiction. Believe it or not, right now I'm reading How to Win Friends and Influence People (at my wife's suggestion, if that tells you anything about my glowing personality). Vic

We all know you're reading that book just so you can win more people over to this site and influence them to see the Iron Man movie. Pretty cunning if you ask me.

LOL, actually you guys are doing a far better job than I am. I'd really like to apply those concepts to my Screen Rant site, though.

I've been meaning to read this for some time now, but haven't had the time. Is it quick? Could it be a weekend read?

I bought Ender's Game a year or so back but haven't gotten around to reading it yet. It's 324 pages long so it might be tough to fit in over just a weekend.
