He does look a bit older, and also seems like he has a full beard. As long as he doenst have a moustache i am happy. Exciting and Awesome. Ive never been sooo excited for a new comic series to start. Its something fresh, but not nesnecessary different. And I agree, theres more going on in these 2 issues it seems, then 50 from Matt Fraction. And yes, I hope the door hits him on he way out. Him, and his tracing hack of an artist
Likely later tonight I am gonig to do a thread on the relaunched Marvel titles and what to expect. Fraction is going to the Fantastic Four and The FF, although for once the F4 finally have decent looking costumes. Like all Fraction's stories at first they sound like they have potential but you know they will fall flat. The new character Fraction created for the FF seems beyond lame. And all Land does is trace so if you don't like Larocca you might not like Land. it actually does look some Larocca might have drawn.. And I do agree that Land's art is easier too look at despite having a lot of recycled and traced things

Bit more from Marvel.com: When his greatest invention becomes his greatest mistake, Iron Man bursts into action to protect it from destroying the Marvel Universe! From Kieron Gillen and Greg Land, Iron Man must act fast and build faster in order to stop the lethal techno virus – Extremis – from landing in the hands of the highest bidder! This November in IRON MAN #2, Tony’s hunt for the rogue units takes him to the island of New Camelot! A mysterious high-tech brotherhood of mech-knights called The Circle, has put their best up against the Armored Avenger, and Stark’s suit may not be ready for action. Iron Man #2 cover by Greg Land
Each issue of IRON MAN includes a code for a free digital copy on the Marvel Comics App for iOS and Android devices. Additionally, each issue of IRON MAN features special augmented reality content available exclusive through the Marvel AR App – including cover recaps, behind the scenes features and more that add value to your reading experience at no additional cost.
An all-new direction! All-new threats! All-new armor! This is Iron Man NOW!
This November, Kieron Gillen and Greg Land redefine what it means to be invincible in IRON MAN #1 & #2!
source: http://marvel.com/news/story/19214/sneak_peek_iron_man_2I swear to God. Marvel must have some sort of worm or something on my computer. I was working this idea for a story. Someone gets Extremis, modifies it so that it doesn't kill as many but allows a single person to control everyone.

I was working on a sci-fi novel in college about a former starship commander who left the service and became a bounty hunter, only to dragged back into the service and given a starship to do a job only he could do. I had written the first 8 chapters when I finally decided to read Peter David's Star Trek: New Frontier series and discovered it was almost the same plot I had. I loved the book, but I was a little heartbroken.

In your defense, there's only so much truly original stuff out there. Read a bunch of stories and you'll see parallels to a lot of things. Whedon's Firefly was considered original with the space cowboy theme, but it was very similar to an anime I watched called Outlaw Star made years before. There's definitely things I thought I came up with, be it an original idea or something for an existing franchise that later became published/used. A personal case in point: the Soul Calibur series. I thought "hey, if Soul Edge gives Nightmare a big, organic arm, wouldn't Soul Calibur give it's user something, like crystal armor since it was made of crystal?" Sould Calibur IV came along and boom: Siegfried who was using Soul Calibur had armor made of crystal. In a way I was disappointed I couldn't be the one to show it (not that it would have happened with an existing game franchise), but on the other hand, it was cool it was used. Although my version he had a helmet.

I watched that on and off when it was out.. I'm definitely a much bigger fan of Firefly tho lol

I don't think there's any doubt Firefly had the better story and characters though.

Late to this party. A lot on at the moment so haven't been on the boards much recently. Great news for "our man in armor" to have his worst enemy of recent years defeated and dismissed There were some good moments during Fractions run (I think) and a lot of not so good ones. I am looking forward to a new creative team and a new direction for Tony/Shellhead. The armoured character on the #2 cover looks like Titanium man to me too. I am a little disappointed Tony's new armour looks to be following the movie aesthetic. Don't get me wrong I love the movie armours and the movies but this is suppossed to be the source material!! Roll on the new era.

Re. the cover art for ish. 2. The louvers are from the movie armor & are the tracks the mask retracts on. Tony's hair looks like it has a light sheen on it instead of gray hair ( at least to me ). And his suit was obviously made for someone a size or two taller judging by how much the jacket sleeves & pant legs are scrunched up. You'd think Brooks Bros. would've given him a better dresser! The visor of the mystery armors helmet does have a T.M vibe to it. The new series sounds like it has potential so here's hoping. On a final note, back in '82 I told an army buddie that they ought to do a Star Trek that had an all-new crew on the Enterprise. He looked at me & said no one would want to watch it because everyone was used to the old crew. Then in '87 comes The Next Generation. I wonder if he remembered that conversation.

IronStark, While you're not wrong that the movies should draw from the comics and not the other way around, Marvel has almost always made some changes to their characters that just happen to resemble the movies when the movies come out. So I'm pretty surprised the main Iron Man book is only just now featuring a Movie-esque Armor for the first time.
The villain definitely does have a T-Man feel to him. That'd be great. Haven't seen a REAL T-Man in awhile.

If that's the T-Man I'd be disappointed in the new armor design; it's a bit lame for one of his greatest foes.
