She wouldn't be able to shoot the gauntlet tho... I'm pretty sure that in the first movie, when you see Tony about to shoot the glass, during the charge up, you see energy from the Arc Reactor fill a tube and then discharge out the gauntlet.  Iron Monger, Whiplash, and War Machine all work because, while they aren't surgically implanted, the Arc Reactor is a part of their suits. So she would have to be linked up to one some how

Thanks for the save, SR. Though we'll have to see if this new armor is soley powered by the Arc Reactor, since it sounds like it's going be be able to fly at and onto Tony and such. Unless it drains off just enough when he takes it off so he can reapply it later.

The Mk. III in I.M. 1 has an emergency reserve power source built in. I would imagine every suit since has it so that's probably what powers the Mk. VII when he calls it to him.

WRONG!

But honestly, if Pepper were to become rescue, I'd want it to be in a later movie.  I think piloting the suit to bring it to Tony--as suggested--giving her a chance to kick some tail, would be awesome.

I always thought Rescue was a good idea as character development for Tony Stark more than Pepper.  Poets write poems for those they love, painters paint their significant others, so Tony makes his girl an armor.  I always thought Pepper should get in the suit once in a while, but typically not like fighting stuff.

And Coulson as the voice in the Rescue armor?  Sick awesome.  If I didn't already have another idea for who I wanted in the armor...

The idea of Rescue showing up makes me uneasy, but I'm in if it's handled right. It would actually be a bit irresponsible of Tony not to give Pepper some added protection since Stark Tower is now such an obvious target for any baddie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I could see Tony giving Pepper a pendant early on, which then activates later in the movie when Stark Tower is being attacked by the Mandarin (or one of his henchmen). The Rescue armor flies onto Pepper similarly to how Tony's flies on to him only to basically whisk her off to safety. I like the idea of having Coulson's voice for the OS/AI.

No.  Rescue was the dumbest idea in a long line of recent dumb ideas at Marvel.

There was and is no benefit to having more people be Iron Man-esque.  Why not go around giving the super soldier serum to everyone?  Because it takes the special away from Cap.  Same thing here.  Let's not dilute the IM waters with more armors.
