That is correct. Series 3 will be coming with the sames stands that came with the 6" movie Avengers figures. While I love BAFs and have most of them, with the intent of getting them all, I am kinda glad they're putting it on hold. These latest series are killing my wallet. I'm also glad series 3 is getting no BAF because of all the repaints of big name characters with tons of part reuse. The only figures in Series 3 that really excite me are Neo Classic Iron Man (He looks soooo freaking cool!) and US Agent. Punisher is kinda neat, but the others are a big meh.

Someone reported after speaking with some of the Hasbro guys that they would look to trying to release the smaller boot and gloved Iron Man at a later date somehow.

Well in that case my wait is far from over. I want the Layton version. The JRJR rendering of that suit was always something that I couldn't stand looking at.

I saw a picture of a test Neo Classic figure with two oversized boots and one oversized and one regular gauntlet. I was hoping they'd be removable.. Maybe with Iron Man Legends they'll do the Layton Neo Classic

I wonder if the Layton Neo-Classic armor will have a BAF part for Iron Monger.

I'm guessing that that is where we'll see it.. I'd be more than thrilled if it did. So who do you want to see in the wave? Let's assume it will have 7 figures, and all from the comics.
1. Extremis (Muted color scheme)/Head 2. Neo-Classic (Layton Era)/Chest 3. Proto-Classic/Right Arm 4. Mandarin(Anything is better than our original one)/Left Arm 5. Ghost(Classic or Thunderbolts)/Crotch 6. War Machine (Frist Appearance/Variants for US War Machine)/Left Leg 7. Tony Stark (Suit/Under Suit Variant)/Right Leg
With Hasbro, you have to figure they're gonna reuse where they can, so Proto-Classic would be the classic armor with a modified chest and head, Neo-Classic would be the slim version of what we're getting, and the Extremis is a repaint. I can't imagine we'd get too many villains, and we'll probably end up with a bleeding edge armor somewhere.

This was my list on the Fwoosh albeit with a few minor changes:
1. Classic Hydro-Armor Iron Man; with right arm 2. Classic Space Armor Iron Man; with left arm 3. Vault Guardsman (Army builder!); with Obadiah Stane head, helmet, and interchangable repulsor blast hand 4. Blizzard with Spymaster running change; with upper torso 5. Classic Living Laser with Serpent Crown (with solid or translucent variant); with left leg 6. Crimson Dynamo (a larger version of the IM2 figure) with classic Ghost running change; with right leg 7. Classic/1st appearance War Machine (A larger version of the IM2 comic series figure); with lower torso
Hasbro loves reuse, and there's two good uses for the 4" IM2 line's Crimson Dynamo body off the bat. I think these running changes could get us a lot of Iron Man villains. I would love to see them do that and thus give us our classic Ghost and Crimson Dynamo at the same time.
I think a lot of us can agree that the comic War Machine from the same line was too good not to make a figure out of for the 6" line.
I'm not sure which version of Living Laser should be the normal release, but I definitely knew he should have a variant, either way. And him coming with the Serpent Crown would be perfect.
The Guardsman would serve a lot of puposes, be it that you wanted to use him as a hero, villain, or army builder.
And finally, those two Iron man armors are two sorely needed classic armors. They could probably reuse the Iron Man head from the Maria Hill two-pack for the Hydro-Armor's head under the clear dome helmet.

Thanks! You know, looking back, I'm surprised they didn't make Iron Man the theme for that Fin Fang Foom series a few years ago instead of the Hulk. Oh well, I'm just finally glad to see ol' Shell-Head getting a series spotlight.

Oh, me too. FFF is pretty awesome. I used to have him chowing down on a 4" Iron Man from the Marvel Universe line with the classic armor and twin pointed helmet. He's supposed to be getting an orange variant with purple trunks released eventually, so there's a chance he could come with a classic green variant. Oh, and the new one talks and might even light up!

I picked up the Galactus they made, but passed on the retail Sentinel; I wished they'd released the classic colors instead of what we got.
