Honestly, I did not understand the point of Fear Itself.
The previews indicated that the Heroes would be facing their fears. But instead, they just faced a bunch of bad guys with hammers and super-powers. While this is not good, why is this so fearsome to the Avengers? They have faced such destruction before (Operation Galactic Storm, World War Hulk, Secret Invasion, Inferno, Infinity Crusade, Onslaught, House of M, to name a few). Why is this so bad compared to anything they've faced before?
Like many of Fraction's stories, it has a lot of potential but goes no where.
I'm tired of these constant events. It seems that every year, we have to suffer through an event that disrupts the regular storylines and really doesn't go anywhere (though, with the current Iron Man storyline, I'm not sure it's a bad thing).
This. x10 its how I feel and wouldnt be surprised if a LOT of comic fans felt this way right about now. Marvel neees to cut back on these 'universe changing events' as their last several sounded good on paper, but ended being an overall disapointment. I will give FI props tho, they handled Cap, IM, and Thor very heroically and all three were the main part for the avengers victory. (although sad all Tony went through to design those weapons, they weren't featured in a big way other than turning their weilders costumes into tron-like designs as well ).
I will probably sit out AvsX however -or Civil War 2- as some are calling It
