ps-I don't think Wiseman's that bad, but I'm waiting for Die Hard 4 to hit budget theaters (since I'm on a budget) to pass judgment there.  But at least it ain't Uwe Boll!

I'm surprised at the Escape from NY remake, but i do admit the time the original was made didnt allow for good filmwork at night.

As for Die Hard 4, I was pleasantly surprised by it. I liked it more than 3 myself, though there were a few too ficticious parts.

Yeah, some of Die Hard 4 was a bit difficult to swallow in retrospect.  But, when you're in the theater, you get sucked into the breakneck pace of the action and the plot and don't really think about it until later.

Was this the guy that directed Breakdown (sort of speaking of Kurt Russell)?

I am vehemently opposed to the Escape from NY remake (and I pray noone goes near Carpenter's The Thing)...but it will probably happen. I just hope everyone involved rethinks some of what was in that AICN script review and they consider someone besides Gerry for Snake (not only doesn't he look like a guy named Snake, Plissken should be played by an American actor)...

okay, I can smell a rant so I'm stopping right here.

No, BREAKDOWN was directed by Jonathan Mostow, who directed U-571 and Terminator 3.  He is directing the Submariner movie next.
