I spent some in Artist’s Alley at the C2E2 show this weekend, searching out artists I knew and liked, or those who would be able to render a uniquely styled Iron Man for my collection. I came across some great artists and had the following commissions done:

John Eberle

Jordan Gunderson

Jenny Frison

Uko Smith (Super awesome!)

Mark Bagley (Awesome!!!)

Bob Layton (Awesome again!!)

LOL!  Thanks guys.

When these guys ask me what I want done, I typically tell them to draw whatever they want, as long as it's Iron Man. This has a tendency to diversify my collection a bit, and also helps land a better drawing because they might be enthusiastic to do the job.

I told Layton to do whichever armor came to mind, anyway he wanted and I got a great action piece that's much better than a simply character study, which most artists produce. I'm really happy with all of these, but Uko's piece (I'm a huge fan of his Indiana Jones sketch cards) and Layton's piece really stand out. The others are still terrific, too.  I couldn't believe the full figure piece that Gunderson drew in an afternoon for me!  If we had more time, he would've inked it, but it was a Sunday commission.
