Here's the place to discuss Issue 71 of Advanced Iron.

Personally, I was blown away when it loaded up on my screen. It was freaking gorgeous... the most professional looking issue I've ever seen. Great in depth articles and not much artwork, but that Stane/Iron Monger piece was VERY cool.  Smiley

And I always love reading about the new collectibles out there that I can spend my hard earned money on.  Grin

The new Zine is chock full of IM-goodness.  I enjoyed everyone of the articles, but especially liked the interviews - good stuff Peter and Heath!  Thanks for all the info, guys!

Everyone did an amazing job, and a big thanks go out to the contributors who have agreed to submit regular columns for the next years woth of issues (thanks to Roger Ott and Heath!).  Filipe and I have found a groove for a very uniform and presentable construction of the zine and his insight really helped translate the picture I had in my head for the issue into the final PDF (& yeah, that Iron Monger piece friggin' rocked...).  Also, my buddy and Chicago area pro-photographer Alberto Chavez did a great job helping me with the cover.  You guys should scope out his website here, and maybe drop him an email so he knows his work helping us out was appreciated (beto-ac*at*sbcglobal.net).

We have a good format for the zine now, and the next issue is going to be just as exciting and great to look at.  If you guys want a real treat for A.I., then spend some money on high quality photo paper and print the issue out (during our goal setting for the issue, this was one of Filipe's goals to have everyone want to do this.  So I did it.  And it's incredible.)  It's like a work of art in your hands.

I just created a thread for this issue over at my regular message board, IMWAN.

For those not in the know, IMWAN is a general-interest message board with a definite slant towards those who love funnybooks.

Oh, and IMWAN stands for...well, anything, really.

Ian Must Wash Artists Nightly.

I May Whip Antelopes Naughtily.

Irving, Must We Always Nibble?

and such...although it originally stood for

Iron Man With A Nose.

A.I. #71 was great. I loved all the info on the various Iron Man busts and statues and about what Iron Man stuff is selling on eBay. The Metal Head column was great too. I think my favourite part was the interview with Fred Van Lente though. I'm really looking forward to Marvel Adventures: Iron Man. Iron Man as unabashedly heroic again? That will be a treat.  Cool

AI 71 is great looking. Very professional. My only gripe, where was the Ferro Files "Under COnstruction" page I slaved over?  Wink

You don't want some impish, hunchback with a lisp to come running up to the party screaming, "Ferro Files is coming!! Ferro Files is coming!!"

NO!

You want to make a grand entrance.  One that everyone at the party has to stop and look and the air is silent but for the slight *gasp* from a few onlookers.  There would also be a loud needle-scrathing-over-a-record sound as all music stops instantly.

Then... TA-DA!!  Ferro Files makes his entrance, grabs a sleeve of champagne from a near-by waiter, winks at the prettiest girl in the room (who blushes and looks away giggling) and the crowd goes WILD!!

Ok, we can go that route too... it just seems I "slaved" over a pretty cool "under construction" page for naught. Undecided

I finally got around to downloading the issue and all I can say is ... WOW.

"Impressive" doesn't begin to describe my feelings! This is one of the best-formatted issues of all time. If this is a sign of things to come, AI is in good hands!

Ain't it great, though?

It's in good hands with John.
