Heath, this looks great, and thanks for the tip! I'm curious-- how does it compare to 2008's UNDER THE ARMOR, the Mangels book? I thought that was a really great book, full of wonderful interviews and reproductions. Does this cover some of the same ground, or is it different?

Well, they both have the same illustration, but Mangels' is more in-depth.  This one is great because it reproduces a lot of great artwork in a much, much larger format.  Really cool stuff, lots of art.

My first two thoughts:
-This is the Iron Man book I wanted to write
-This is the Iron Man book I was hoping that Beneath the Armor would be (still proud as hell to have been involved in that though...)

Beneath the Armor was great, and I consider it the "more in-depth" version.  Although sometimes there was a glossing over of key story lines.  But I love what they did with this new book!  More artwork is my favorite!

ps-I still think Iron Man in the 2000s wasn't all that great, but I still love the character!

The book is beautiful. I love both books, Under the Armor and this one. I recommend it!

Saw it last week at Barnes & Noble and flipped through it while sipping a Chai tea.  Looks good, though I did spot one factual error, but for the life of me I can't remember it now.

Dude, have them do an apple juice infusion with the Chai tea. It's a warm apple chai... it's fantastic! Smiley

I'll try to remember, though the nearest B&N is almost 2 hours away, unfortunately.  I love to go in there and just smell new books...Wink

I live in what is affectionately referred to as "The Sticks"; therefore the nearest town big enough to have even a Wal-Mart is 36 miles away, and that's the only major store it has.  If it wasn't for the Internet, I'd have to (and used to) spend a lot of gas money driving.  Prior to the Internet, I had to drive that same 2 hours to the comic shop, which meant only going once a month or less.  You can imagine my elation when I discovered some dozen years ago that I could purchase comics online!

I just bought it yesterday. My only complaint is I wish they would've covered more important story arcs and issues than they did but I guess we can't have everything (i.e. less coverage of all the ridiculous Marvel mega-events in the 2000's and more coverage of key moments in Iron Man history that actually mattered please). The artwork is beautiful and displayed in gigantic glory however, and the information it does include is great for the uninitiated. It's well worth the price and will look great sitting on any Iron Fan's coffee table. It's just gorgeous, what else can I say?
