Honestly, I don't like them.  LOL, I'm also not a member of the Bowen Club to order them, but honestly if I was, I don't know if I would...

The Grey Clunker was never meant to be polished so it's obscure, and although I have the standard bust, I never really liked that sculpt on that bust anyway.  I mentioned this in the last Stark Market Report about how Bowen is doing less interesting busts and that these things are now like half statues.  As silly as it may sound, I like my busts without arms... lol!

Good thing my polarizing eye shields slid into place when I viewed that page... Grin

Oh and in unrelated Iron Man statue news, the Hard Hero regular edition and Stealth exclusive statues begin shipping to retailers next week.

A lot of people do prefer their busts to be armless. For those most part, I like the "half-statue" approach especially for characters like Thor (he's got to be holding Mjolnir) and Iron Fist.

They did that exclusive chrome thing with the Ultron bust that came out awhile back.  I got the original and it's by far preferable to the chrome one.

Chrome should be used sparingly. I much prefer a metallic paint application (as used on the Sideshow Iron Man comiquette) over chrome. Chrome can degrade over time and there is a very high reject rate on producing chrome pieces.

Still...very shiney.

While I agree that the Ultron painted looks as good as the chrome, the chrome exclusive demands 10X the value on the secondary market.

Well, yeah, if you're worried about such a thing, which I'm not.  I wanted a cool Ultron to take out of the box and display on my shelf, not a cool way-out-of-my-budget Ultron for my shelf.  Smiley

I prefer the Painted one as well.  The chrome one is still shiny enough to be eye-catching though.  I wonder if anyone has ever tried to pick up chicks by displaying Chrome Ultron and Iron Man busts in their cars?! Cheesy

Here a better pic of the chrome Ultron. All I got is the painted, and while I'm happy with it, the chrome Ultron is a little nicer IMO.

Yeah, that does look a bit better than the chromed one I posted earlier.

The only thing that would have made Ultron nicer, IMO, would have been if they'd used a clear, shiny plastic to create the molecular furnace glow of his mouth.

My advice to you, my friend is to not try picking up chicks using your Ultron or Iron Man busts.  What's more is, especially don't do this using any of your female Avengers busts for fear of making the young lady in question feel inadequate.

I'm just lookin' out for ya, Kaiser!  Wink

Just remember the collection is all about the organization and the presentation, otherwise it's just a hunk of toys and dolls strewn about a room with some comics and curios.  Wink
