guess a first set is coming out on 10-20-09...  here's what the set contains--
Iron Man: Armored Adventures - Volume 1 will be available on DVD for the MSRP (Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price) of $16.95, while the Blu-ray will carry an MSRP of $26.95.

The episodes in this first volume include:

    * "Iron, Forged In Fire Part One"
    * "Iron, Forged In Fire Part Two"
    * "Secrets and Lies"
    * "Cold War"
    * "Whiplash"
    * "Iron Man vs. The Crimson Dynamo"

And here's the list of special features:

    * Iron Man: Armored Adventures Suit Profiles
    * Rooney Music Video
    * All-New Super Hero Squad Show Music Video

---since I have yet to actually see this show, I might bite the bullet and actually buy it just to say I've seen it. But it still wont be better than the 90s series or even the 60s series, which I've been lucky enough to receive on a 2 disc dvd set   Cheesy

Wild that this is getting a release, but that no one has capitalized on re-releasing the original series from the 90s on DVD yet...

First thing that came to mind too. Could it be a dispute with whatever company produced/distributed it? I've heard of that happening a few times.

I was skeptical at first but if you can get past the "teen tony" this series is not that bad. Definitely more entertaining than WMW and probably TSD. Wow!

Unfortunately, the biggest problem I have with this series is all the drastic changes they made. They changed everything so much that they pretty much rewrote the entire Iron Man mythology! Even when I do look beyond the teen aspect I am still highly upset what they did with the villains and characters with changes so meaningless like making Whitney blond!, come on what logical reason did they do that for? This series is so far off that I can not qualify armored adventures as a Iron Man series!

Is this worth checking out?  My buddy says its pretty good but I'd rather get some opinions off here.

I rather like this series, much better than the first half of the mid-90s animation (though the later episodes of that are MUCH better, of course). The changes don't bother me much, it's just another Marvel Alternative Universe fas as I'm concerned... Smiley Tune is catchy...
