That would be bad. They tried that with the retro classic to replace the Modular, and the result was the letters page being filled with fans saying how much they hated the design.

LOL yeah that was a mistake to try to replace the Modular with that pathetic thing. I hope that they wont repeat that incident again.

I too think they'll go back to basics.  The new armor will probably be a fusion of the classic and movie armor in order to make it recognizable to both classic comic fans and movie viewers.  Personally, I'm glad they had the look of the armor stay somewhat consistent for the last few years.

Has there been any kinf of indication or leaks on what the new armor may look like? I think a whole new design is needed. Abandon the extremis and movie designs completely and dont go back to the classic armor style.

Yes, there is one (but it's my own opinion): http://www.picamatic.com/view/5329286_newa/

If they do use that, then I hope to god it is armed as well as the War Machine or NTU-150.  It needs to have PULSOR beams, missiles, machine guns, cluster munitions, plasma blasters, proton cannons, and one heck of a unibeam.  Not only that but it should have the standard repulsor rays and it should come equipped with an anti-jedi lightsaber.

I put that in the list because I expected someone to say that.  Therefore, you gave me what I wanted to hear. Seriously though, wouldn't it be good to see Iron Man in pitched combat against Fin Fang Foom in that theoretical new armor and then the next thing you know Stark pulls out the Proton cannon and yells out Infinity PROTON CANNON!!!!!?  Or how about when he's facing Hulk and then he cheap shots Hulk in the face with the Proton Cannon?  Think of all of the possibilities like the one below.

I wouldnt count that to be honest. We've seen plenty of designs sitting in the armor that never made it into action and I think that's just going to be another one of them. Though if they got rid of the piston thingies on the neck that would be a good armor.

They look like Hydraulic actuators to me.  They really should get rid of them since they just make the neck look too big.

Is it me, or is that suit smiling? It also doesn't look like you could tilt or turn your head very far with all that brik-a-brak around & behind it. Those winglets could get in way if you were trying to fit thru a tight space. All in all I'd say this was meant as a specialty suit rather than the new standard.

I agree with you Iron Guy I think it too looks more like a specialty suit then anything else.
