I know that most of us here are Marvelites, but when the chips are down, who's dog will come out on top? I say JLA will. Even if you get extended versions of each team,JLA still has this one in the bag.

If these version of the teams fought....

        Avengers:                             JLA

      Captain America                    Superman
      Iron Man                              Batman
      Thor                                    Wonder Woman
      Ant-Man                              Flash (Barry Allen)
      Wasp                                  Green Lantern (Hal Jordan)
      Hulk                                    Martian Manhunter

..........these would be the first heroes to fall:

                              1.Batman             2.Captain America
                              5.Flash                3.Ant-Man
                        6.Martian Manhunter    4.Wasp

Who do you think would be left victorious? Superman?Thor?Green Lantern?Hulk?WHO?!!

                                  BEBATE AWAY!!!

Batman and Shellhead- Last Ones Standing! Then they shake hands and head over to a posh restraunt to compare tech toys and discuss corporate mergers and acquisitions.

Given the line ups you mentioned, the Avengers are seriously out powered.

Wouldn't even be close.

I'm a bigger Avengers fan, but the Justice League is more powerful. I can see individual Avengers winning their battles (like Iron Man obviously), but in the end the JLA would have more members still standing. They out number the Avengers as well.

Dont' forget Iron Man's coolest intercompany feat (other than keeping up with Superman in flight and being one of the guys to put him down with the other high powered Avengers) was taking out both Wonder Woman and Green Lantern....

The current Avengers line-ups (New and Mighty) versus the current JLA team would be a much better contest.

Assuming everyone knows everyone else.

Dr Strange and Sentry vesus Superman. (Dr. Strange takes Supes out, while the Sentry provides a defensive line from which Doc can do his magic thing)

Spider Woman, Wasp versus Hawkgirl (advantage Avengers)

Wonder Man and Ares versus Wonder Woman (still close, could go either way)

Black Widow and Iron Fist versus Red Arrow and Black Canary (even)

Iron Man versus Green Lantern (advantage Green Lantern *sorry guys* Iron Man has a chance but the Lantern outpowers him)

Luke Cage versus Black Lightning (could go either way, not sure exactly how powerful Lightning is these days)

Spider-Man versus Vixen (advantage Spider-Man)

Ms Marvel versus Red Tornado (advantage Red Tornado)

Wolverine versus Batman (Could go either way)

That's because these are bad pairings.  Strategically, Ms. Marvel could keep up with GL with space and photon powers while Iron Man puts the Red Tornado down in a heartbeat and then teams up with Ms. Marvel against GL.

Hmmm... I agree Iron Man would have an easier time with the Red Tornado.

Not sure if Ms Marvel could hang in a fight against the Lantern, but your logic is sound.

I'm with IMJ on this.  Ms. Marvel should be able to hold off GL until Iron Man annihilates Red Tornado.  Then, Iron Man comes and surprise attacks GL while he is distracted.  Sentry should be able to defeat SuperMan with Dr. Strange's assistance, and Wonder Man and Ares will destroy Wonder Woman.

So, two Avengers teams versus the current JLA team? That seems unfair to me. Obviously the New and Mighty Avengers will have an advantage in your scenario given their greater numbers which allows them to have several of their members double up on individual Justice Leaguers. But if we are going to allow multiple Avengers teams then why not multiple Justice teams? For instance, we could add the Justice Society of America.

Two teams, but 13 members in total whereas the JLAers have 10. Given that the JLA has Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern and Batman, I don't find this at all an unfair advantage. If you prefer we could always add Ronin (Clint Barton) to the Avengers side and Geo-Force and the Flash to the Leaguers.

Going to the actual JLA Avengers mini-series, if both teams did have MVPs, my money would be on Wonder Woman (JLA) and Iron Man (Avengers).
