I'll carry this thread through the first six issue arc as I get to read them.

I finally read the first two issues of IIM last night. I thought the concepts of Zeke Stane’s powers were neat, but I found that I had more gripes than anything. Actually it sort of sucks that we've abandoned Director of SHIELD (with a solid creative team nonetheless) for this.

-We got another annoying reference to the armor as "the Iron Man" (e.g., "I'll have the Iron Man up and running...") which is super annoying on many levels.
-The art looks like it's trying to rob Adi Granov's style rather than be its own representation
-what's with the debonair mustache?
-What's with knocking the boot jets when we know that Stark uses boot jets, but also can use modified repulsor flight?
-What's with heat seeking missiles actually being a big deal?
-The Pepper & Tony thing is forced because of the movie status quo

There were some plusses though:
-Ms. Marvel continuity is loosely referenced by using an AIM splinter cell
-Uhhh.... well we'll see where it goes with the next few.

The first arc of this series was basically four issues of set-up, so you'll be bored till issue 5 or so.
