So we've seen pics of the original grey armor Mk I and the Granov inspired Mk III, but what happened to the Mark II?
Have we heard or seen anything about this armor?

I haven't heard of it either. Jon said there was supposed to be one, but I don't know for sure.

I don't mind not having seen it yet. I want there to be some surprises when I'm watching the film.

Agreed. It'd be cool if Jon & Co. were able to keep it under wraps.

Since it is the main armour in the film and the one the character is most famous for (the red and gold colour scheme and all) it should be used for promotion, in my opinion. And then details about the other armours which lead up to the Mark III should be revealed in the story as you watch the movie.

I'll laugh if the armor is a complete amalgamation of both mk. I and Mk. III. That would look like utter trash IMO.

I'm hoping the Mk II is modeled after the Classic armor.

I don't know... I would'nt bet on it. The classic armor would look more like a Silver Surfer, liquid metal look which would be far more advanced than the mech-looking suit that's been released as the Mark III. Vic

Yeah, it would make the Mark III look like Iron Man forgot the formula of how to produce magnetically tesselated shape memory alloys.

Vic I've wondered for a while actually whether or not we'd get to see any armors with a very polished look to them. As in not just gold, but in a reflective, electro plated gold kind of look.

I still think that if Tony makes a mark IV in the sequel, that it's similar to the extremis suit in design. This time, the armor uses non-newtonian metallic liquids stabilized into a solid state via magnetic fields.

I'd rather see a War Machine myself but I sincerely doubt it would happen.

A War Machine armor is guaranteed, if not in the first film, then later on.

There are few armors that were more revolutionary than the War Machine in terms of physical aesthetic appearance and armaments. It will show up eventually.
