True, Millar wrote Iron Man as a dictator, and dug the largest pit of desparity in the world, but hopefully the Knaufs will write Iron Man well enough for him to be idolized again after the Marvel heroes thwart our attempts to conquer Earth, AGAIN!

By dictator, I mean by the fact that Iron Man was written as an oppressive person who was building flippin' prison camps in the negative zone for those heroes who do not register.  It just seems like Iron Man had the intention on commiting the genocide of all who don't conform to the US government's new registration act.  I think it would have been more logical to call Millar's Iron Man as a Hitler incarnate in my previous post though.

It's true that Iron Man had to do those things, but the way that Millar portrayed Iron Man to do those things was what made me think that he could possibly be a little insane.  It was the execution that the writers pulled that gave a false dictator persona to Stark.  The writers wanted the public to think that he was evil.

as i see it .. well he is niot bad.. actually if your read every comic that has to do with iron man during civil war you will see that theres no enemy... there just 2 different opinions and well iron man side won and is justified.. the problem is that all other fan of other characters that arent iron man havent read them so they think that iron man only did these to gain power and do things the way he wants!

I think that's a good point. A lot of fans as well as some of the writers saw it in a rather black and white manner, which is too bad. Marvel promised to provoke a balanced debate about freedom versus security but that's next to impossible when the whole thing amounts to being nothing more than a big superhero fight. Naturally, fans drifted towards supporting the side they felt represented the "good guys" and the rest is history. It's hard to blame them. Superhero stories generally are about good versus evil. Why would they think this one is any different?

well yeah but these are new times that's what joe q want to show that he is bringing new ideas to marvel and well this was one of them but no one understude it :S well i did that's why im not that mad about joe q.. (and about choosing the good guys and baad guys from civil war even iron man stated that everybody was going be on the "underdog" side meaning captain america) and the underdog i almost everystory is the good guy so everybody went with that idea when in civil war that idea shouldt exist

1. Wiggle room.  For better or worse, everything must be closer than the numbers (if they're even looked at in some cases) would dictate.

2. Lots of cooks on the broth.  Solo series, minis,  team books, crossover events, and guest appearances.
