Brent - congrats - I've been negotiating a home deal myself for the last two months, so I know from that that you must be excited to be settled.  Please send me some kind of outline that brainstorms your input with IB's so that we can make everything gel and get rolling!

IMJ, sorry for the delay in responding to your request here.
Absolutely, I've finally gotten my office space workable in the
new place and am ready for (IM in) Action. I'll touch base with
you and Filipe over the next day or two and get tasks sorted
on the big 75.

(and anyone who has yet to fill out their BEST MOMENTS picks
in the neighbouring thread, please jump on that soon. I believe
I'll issue a cutoff next week so I can start laying out that article.)

No problem.  Can someone send me the server access instructions again? I usually do the edits to a checklist which I'm going to place on the server to help us task this thing out.

Hi All,
Just wanted to let you know that issue 75 is back in development.
Arranging deliverables with IMJ currently. So you can stall the death marches ;-)
It is a huge endeavour. There are big plans. More info to follow.

It's been hard getting the team together Kaiser. For the amount of work this takes all of us (especially with full time jobs and whatnot) a little more positive attitude as opposed to the negative fist of anger thing is probably more helpful. Wink

we will be keeping you in mind Kaiser, to keep us motivated
through the weeks ahead as we pull together all the Iron Man
goodness we have to share. It's a crazy amount of work, but
we believe in the Advanced Iron 'zine and we're getting it back
online (as it were ;-). I hope it is the greatest issue ever...

A while back I took a look at what we have left on the server from when we were first gathering AI 75 subs. A lot of the content is still good, but anything that was time-sensitive will have to be re-written for relevance.  It's probably a good idea to jam out a pre-layout outline and then we can fill it in with the new written content.

Brent, if you want to create new "In Progress" and "Completed" folders on the server, then go ahead and do that. I always work with a checklist, and as each page is meets completion I check it off after reviewing it. Pages that we put into the "Completed" folder are ready to be compiled into the final zine.  I'll pull that stuff out of the "In Progress" folder when reviewing it.  This is the process I used to stay organized on my home system before we started sharing files on the server.

NOTES FOR THE TEAM:
If anyone gets ahold of Filipe, let him know that he's always welcome with us as well. I just haven't even seen him on the forums in nearly a year now.

Heath, we'll need a new Metal Head, but I suggest holding on that until we are close (like when I write the Editorial).

Chris, any interviews you've had are still good. They are typically not time sensitive, so you should be fine unless you want to add anything.

I know there's been some debate over what to use for the 75th issue cover. I've got to make a call on this and it's going to have to be Layton's cover for us. He gave that thing to us as a gift forever ago, and although why we are behind on the issue shouldn't be of much concern to anyone, I'm certainly not going to insult the guy by not using a cover that he took hours to draw and contribute to us.  The trick though will be to lay graphics in a way that doesn't occlude the more compelling parts of the cover image, so we'll have to work on that.

Brent, something that we can immediately is get any of the one sheet artwork subs in completed layout. if you have a chance soon, then just take the drawings and slap the header and footer on them and toss them in the "Completed" folder.  That will at least be one simple step of progress that'll be completed.

If anyone wants to add some art subs that'd be great!

If we finally get this issue done I've got some cool swag for the positive, forward moving group that has worked with us on this over the years. I wasn't going to say much until the zine was completed, but at this point I'm hoping it'll serve as motivation for our team. Myself and Iron Jedi been sitting on some physical (as in not-digital) stuff from some very key Iron Man creators that you guys wouldn't believe.....

Sounds good on all marks, IMJ...

...and for my two cents, what could be better and more appropriate for
an Iron Man Anniversary cover than a Bob Layton piece? Probably nothing.
BIG thumbs up on that.
