Well I'm new to the boards and have been looking about when I spotted this. Way cool!

Funny that I was just thinking the other day how the powers that be could make us old timers very happy if they released a book titled "Iron Man Classic" and brought back Len Kaminski to finish up his arc with Mycroft (was that his name?) and pretty much do a book that would be a kind of alternate universe, what if the Crossing never happened deal.

Then guys like me could go off and happily have 'our' IM back and wish all the bad stuff (Crossing, Teen Tony, Heroes Reborn) into the cornfield.

Oh what a wonderful world it would be.  Wink

I dunno, I pretty much used all the material I'd had in mind for Mycroft over in the Acclaim BLOODSHOT reboot (dichotomy and contrast between a protagonist made physically superhuman  by artificial means vs. a nemesis with a technologically enhanced intellect, bascially).  I think it ended up working out better there anyway.

Now, the Technovore, HIM I wouldn't mind doing more with.  And, of course, there's that Ultimo vs. Fin Fan Foom epic I never got to do...

yeah but you'd have to tie up the loose ends? How about if Ultimo steps on him, there that ends it.  Grin

Lordie, Ultimo vs Fing Fan Foom - I'm mentally drooling at the very thought of it. And some wing-nut thought turning Tony into a Kang controlled murderer was a better idea than that?

I didn't get a chance to argue the point, they were pretty much fixated on the Kang/Teen Tony thing from the morning of Day One of the conference.

As far as loose ends go, it'd be up to IM to put a stop to it all before they wrecked all of L.A.  Which would, of course, require him to power up the Doomsday Armor -- about 75 feet of giant Japanese robot, with Tony piloting in the head...

And is it any coincidence that Power Rangers was big on TV during that era? Wink

And on the subject of Macross, does the prospect of having a variable fighter-type armor for Iron Man interest you?  Think The Centurions, if you will (if you remember that cartoon)

That's good man.  I really just couldn't see you being inspired by super-sentai people Mr. Kaminski.

Actually Super Sentai (Power Rangers in the US) was around before Voltron.

Voltron made it's debut in the 1980's while the first Super Sentai series, Himitsu Sentai Goranger first aired in 1975.

Holy crap! Kaminski is here? I knew I had to start checking these boards out more. Len you and Mark Gruenwald (RIP) were the comic writers I grew up with. All your technical writing really made Iron Man my favorite character and is something that is missing lately. I have a few questions:

1) What have you been up to these days?
2) Who is your favorite Iron Man writer? (Other than yourself of course!)

P.S. I will definitely sign a petition to get you back on the title.

Good gravy, why didn't I jump in here earlier?!  Too busy with the movie stuff over at Metal Head.

Thanks for stopping by, Len.  I was 15 when your stuff started coming out, and I just remember it all so well.  I also remember writing movie stuff for AI in 1995 when I first heard about The Crossing.  Sigh...

Anyway, thanks to you, Kev, Scott, Bob, Nel, Tom, etc., for giving us the last great Iron Man run.  I'm not hanging onto the past; I just don't like what's out today.  Well, I like Fraction's stuff, but I liked Michelinie/Layton's mini and one-shot better.  Here's to hoping you get the chance to do another run!
