Hey guys,

The existing Armory entries have always been inconsistent in regards to image size and layout and I'd like to standardize the look of those pages. Here is what I'm talking about... compare the following two entries:

Retro Armor I

Retro Armor II

The image sizes are very different and to my anal-retentive self that's very annoying.  Grin

The layout in these entries what I'm proposing:

Extremis Armor

S.K.I.N. Armor

I think it works better having a fairly consistent image size and position on the page from entry to entry. I guess my real question is whether you think that the images should be perhaps larger and/or centered above the armor description, or whether the current layout works really well.

I want to show the armor but I don't really want huge images on the page.

What do you think?

Thanks,

Vic

Different size pics aren't really a huge issue, but it should be an easy enough fix for the majority of them.

I would keep the layout consistent, but I agree with Tetra the pic size isnt a big deal.

Either way works, Vic. But if you want a really helpful utility for making the armor pix uniform, might I recommend Mihov's Image Resizer. (http://www.mihov.com/eng/)

It's a very easy and useful utility that happens to be freeware. Using it, you could resize pix based on pixel resolution (i.e. 400x600, 640x800, etc.)

IJ, thanks for the tip. I use Adobe ImageReady which works quite well. I use it to tweak any images I use online.

I've used that Mihov image program too... it is a pretty fun toy.
I do stuff with ACDSee too. It's a pretty intuitive program and has easily apps for basic image manipulations and it also has a lot of different filters to choose from to control quality when resizing.

I'm going with Chaos and am going to say that the image size isn't anything to worry about.  I like the layout for the Extremis armor though.  You should apply that to all of the armor entries.

Yeah they do... it's a nice database to go through.  I like the left aligned images with the justified text, rather than the image on top and the text underneath, Vic.

Guys, thanks for all your feedback. It's hard to judge things one is so involved with sometimes with an objective eye (although I did prefer the newer layout).  Cheesy

Just as an FYI, on the war machine page for the weapons you are missing the flame thrower and wrist mounted machine guns.

Noted and fixed.
