But i think everyone that is younger is going to be going off the newer look that THOR presents in the comics which makes it so much more important to pick the right person to play THOR in order for the film to be a hit at the box office.
The important thing IS picking the right person ... one of the attributes of this person should be the ability to act.
Triple H is NOT able to act. Even if he could, could he act well enough to CARRY a movie? I don't think so. Sure, he's big ... but that's it.
If that's all it takes, I submit this guy:

Honestly, it's just too bad Vladmir Kulich is like 900 years old now. He had the natural sound and the natural look. Plus he wasn't a terrible actor.
I think Tamonah Penikett ("Helo" - BSG) would make a good Thor - good actor & has the physicality (6' 3") to pull it off. Also Karl Urban (6' 1") has a pretty good Middle Earth accent (Eomer - LOTR) & also can play physical roles is another contender.
I'd say no to both of them. Karl Urban I could deal with, but by god he's getting older.
The real problem with Thor is that it's actually going to take someone with acting prowess.
I know size seems super important, but if I were to choose between someone that looked right (but couldn't act) or someone who could act (but didn't look perfect) ... I'd choose the actor. People are getting caught up in the looks.
This is going to be a 2 hour movie - you've got to have someone that can carry a film for a good percentage of that time.
