Well most comics I pick up (and these are regular 'ole Marvel comics) are rated Teen, Teen+ and Mature, so my daughter who is turning 11 soon wouldn't be allowed to read them even if she wanted to.

As to kids/video games... don't get me started. I've got one word for you: PARENTS.

Sure, my daughter likes Nancy Drew video games and stuff like Zoo Tycoon, but she's also already read about 10 books this summer.

Here's a fact to provide evidence for that.  Thanks to Spider-Man 3, there seems to be roughly 4 times as many people at my school who know who Venom is.  They even said that they should bet a little more into Marvel.
