This probably sounds wierd coming from an aussie but I was on the edge of my seat for the whole last quarter in their stunning win over the Packers at Lambeau! Im so proud of Big Blue! I honestly thought towards the end they were not supposed to win, missing not only 2 close range FG's but having a TD nullified by a penalty. Was somewhat of sloppy finish too with all thouse mistakes & penaties from both sides. Ive been a Giants fan since they won the SuperBowl back in 1990-91 & was bitterly disappointed by their blow out in the big dance by the Ravens in 2000. They go into the game well and truly as underdogs against the PATS but they've won 10 straight on the road & that might just be what might do it for them in Arizona. They've probably come closer than anyone to actually beating the Patriots in the regular season & have just dispatched 2 teams in a row that gave them an 0-2 start. Ive decided to take the day off to watch the big game (its a Monday here in Oz) & cheer my beloved G-Men on! While there would be no shame in going down to a "perfect" team, Im hoping they can pull off the biggest upset of all time!

My girlfriend's a big Patriots fan, so we watched them today as they put the kibosh on the Chargers. I softly root for whatever team they're playing just to be contrarian, but I'm really indifferent to who wins. Looking forward to the Super Bowl, as it should be a good match-up.

I'm a Steeler fan, and since they fell apart over their last 6 games or so, my interest has been waning quite a bit. My philosophy is simple, anyone but the Patriots (can't stand them, so sue me!). Doesn't look like anything is going to stop that from happening though.

Sweet, another Steeler fan! I was cheering for the Packers myself, but the Giants winning doesnt upset me at all. I'm just cheering against the New England Cheaters, who I think personally shouldnt have even been allowed in the playoffs after they got caught. That and after going to school in New England, I can never cheer for a New England team besides the Bruins, only because I hate the rest of the Atlantic division more than htem.

As a New Englander, I am required by law to favor the Patriots. However, being a geek (gasp! whodda thunk?), I've never really cared about football. Though it'd be a mighty shame for their perfect season to end in a loss in the only game that really matters.

I've never care much for sports, period, but since my girlfriend's kid took up high school football three years ago, I've gotten more interested in it. And, the team is called the Thunderbolts, so that helps!

I've never really liked Sports either. Even with a team called Thunderbolts, I'm still not interested. Now, if they were the Avengers, Defenders, Whackos, or the Alpha Flights, then we'll talk!

My interest comes mostly from the fact that the kid is playing, and I also know many of his friends who are on the team, too. For instance, prior to my girlfriend and I getting together, I lived about four blocks away from the football field for eight years and I never attended a game. It's more fun when you personally know the players.

Giants? Did someone mention Pym Particles....? Oh, my mistake. Sports. Whew! Now there's a subject I am COMPLETELY unlearned in, which is typically unAustralian of me. Agent 333's comment about being a geek is probably where I'm at. Except...I'm not qualified to be an authentic 'geek'. Never have bitten the head off a live chicken in a carnival sideshow. Not for profit.

Got to admit that they surprised the hell out of me (Tyree deserves MVP for that catch over the middle, IMHO; hopefully he got a couple of game balls), but I'm glad to see it. I have no love for the Patriots (hate them actually), and I think everyone just made it a foregone conclusion that they were going to win, myself included. I'm glad to see underdogs beat the odds...
Of course, I'm sure some of the happiest guys tonight are the remaining '72 Dolphins.

Well, that's a shame. You'd think that the Pats would have saved their best for last, but I guess not. Oh well, there's always next year. </feign interest>

This was one of the greatest super bowls ever and easily the best in the last 4 or 5 years. I am not a Giants fan but I hate the Pats with a passion (ever since the tuck rule) and was glad to see them go down. Personally, I thought it was karma. Before kickoff, Eli Manning tried to shake Tom Brady's hand but Brady wouldn't have it and turned away. Way I see it, that plus the whole spygate thing says to me they had it coming.

GO GIANTS! GO BIG BLUE!!!
I put 10 bux on Giants to win ($4.10) & 10 bux on anyone other than Brady being MVP ($8) - I just made $120!!!! I nearly put the money down before the Green Bay game when the Giants were paying 11 dollars to win the SB. Im not a gambling man so this just made it so much sweeter.
And yes the Giants Defense manhandled Brady all day...basically kept them in the competition the entite game...and then when it failed when the CB fell over & Randy Moss scored that late TD, the offense stepped up with that magnificent sack evade from Manning then the catch from David Tyree off his helmet. Im so happy for Eli Manning...what he has overcome & accomplished this year has been amazing & he totally deserves the MVP award in the Superbowl...he was outstanding.
That is THE best game Ive ever watched!
