i downloaded the Demo for the PS3.
this game is pretty darn good.
the controls are pretty smooth, the character movements are very well developed and the fighting and AI machines are well designed.

pros:
-enemy learn yous shooting habits, they arent going to just pop out into your sights
-enemy movements when hit or injured looks real
-the character's movemenst are very smooth
-the enviorment is just simply beautiful
-character interactivity with enviorment is good (character clothes get wet if you walk into water)
-plenty of weapons to use & when you do the character cocks and loads it
-hand to hand combat is nice, you can even punch them in the nuts
-theres no life bar, character recovers health with time
-5.1 surround sound its awesome on this game, too many details

cons:
-game can be hard at times even on normal
-it will take you a good hour to get the character movements right while shooting. once you get a hold of it, its cake

I watched an online preview for this game today... looks good. People are saying that this game will be a platform seller for the PS3.

Got this game for X-Mas (along with MLB 07 and Heavenly Sword) and it rocks!!!!  I'm only on level 2 but after the amazing first level and the demo, I agree with the publications that deemed it one of the best games of the year.  The story is movie-quality, the graphics are better than anything else on the PS3 and the gameplay is smooth.

I also got this game for Xmas, i agree with typhon and it ROCKS.
one of the best 1 player games ever made for PS. Graphics are nuts, shadows are awesome, movies are incorporated into the game play, it makes it smooth and enjoyable. the music is very crisp and clear and on 5.1 ch surround its amazing hearing the bullets. controlling the character is very easy to learn and gives you the IN CONTROL feel.
i am already on level 7 and cant get enough
i give it 9.5 out of 10 just because theres nothing that could be done with other players or online.

I love the scenery graphics throughout this game.  Sometimes I want to stall playing just to sit there and look at the backgrounds and wish I was there.  Especially the part as you are along the cliffside by the ocean approaching the castle for the first time....

This is just a great high def game.  It also starts off with the action right away (on the boat) which I was surprised about actually.
