Another L&O? They jumped the shark a decade ago. I'd rather watch Leno than that.
As for Zucker? Colossal screwup on his part, and it's going to cost him major money. Leno might be understanding, but I bet both O'Brian and Leno both will have his rear on a platter before this is over.

http://www.deadline.com/hollywood/conan-obrien-resigning-tonight-show/Conan puts NBC on notice! He could quit, though and I doubt NBC will care if he goes to Fox. They won't be stuck paying him every year even if they take him off the air (yes, that's in his contract--if his ratings sucked and NBC got rid of him, they'd still have to pay him). heath

But if Conan quits, that's all moot? I can't believe he'd do it and mess up a good payout.

F NBC, if Conan doesn't wanna do the 12:05 show, let him go so he can do his own show and be happy. No matter how NBC stands, it's clear they handled it just about as horrible as possible.

Jeff Zucker and NBC have been in the toilet for years. MSNBC is a partisan joke and CNBC is the only decent thing they have, channel-wise. Give me a break! Never should've moved Leno in the first place.

Never should've moved Leno in the first place.
That would have been the sane alternative. Unfortunately, no one did that.

http://www.deadline.com/hollywood/jeff-zucker-threatens-to-ice-conan-ill-keep-you-off-the-air-for-3-12-years/This is definitely fluid: NBC wants a resolution by the end of today (1/15/10), but there's still the negotiations of a settlement for Conan, though his reps STILL want him to stay as host. It was in 2004 this mess began when Jeff Zucker said Conan would take over from Jay in 2009 on The Tonight Show and Jay would retire. I think Conan was considering jumping ship, or using that as leverage to get the show. Heath

I could be wrong, but I remember about a year or two ago Jay was talking about staying and in that scenario Conan would jump ship. Isn't that why they gave Jay his show, to have the best of both worlds.
Zucker = Douchebag.

I like Leno, but Conan has my vote here. There's no reason he should be punished for Leno's show tanking. My take is if people wanted to see Leno so bad, they would have watched his show which is on at a time that is more accessible time for viewers. Besides, how long does NBC expect Leno to be in business? He might decide to retire in the next 2-3 years after a 15 year career. Also Leno is going to be carrying some baggage when he returns to the Tonight Show. There are going to be a good number of bitter Conan fans as well as average viewers who feel Conan was treated unfairly and refuse to watch. The ratings may be high for the first week of shows, but I expect they will soon drop.
I know Leno never wanted to leave the Tonight Show, but he agreed and that's that. He should have stepped aside and saved everybody from this humiliation. Conan is a great host and he deserves the Tonight Show for many years to come.

I agree, Leno should have said, ya know what NBC I had my run let Conan keep it. Then, it would've been up to Conan to keep the show going strong. I understand where everyone is coming from in the situation, but NBC screwed up so bad on so many different levels.
Here's to hoping Conan goes to Fox and destroys Leno in the ratings.
Just a side note, any watch Fallon's show...I never thought I'd say this but it's actually pretty funny.

While I don't think Leno is necessarily the bad guy in this, it's tough to like him after watching his Oprah interview.
