I saw it last Friday, and I'm going to see it in IMAX this weekend (woohoo!).  The Killing Joke-esque bit at the end was really neat, as nicktem said, and I had a great time.  Not quite as much fun as my friends and I had at the Iron Man premiere, but great nonetheless...we went in Joker henchmen facepaint.  XD

I hope not. AVENGERS can do better than Singerman.

You misunderstood - I meant could Marvel get him over to the Avengers movie the way DC took Singer from X-Men.

No, I think he understood what you meant.  I think he's trying to say he wants a better director than Singer on Avengers.

Ummmm ... still confused.

I was trying to say that we ought to steal Nolan from Batman to do the Avengers pic like they took Singer.  Bryan Singer had nothing to do with it other than being used as a verb.

Saw it today.  Most everyone here has already said things I would say, so I won't repeat much.  It was an amazing movie, the performances were incredible.  The only minor quibble I had was that the Joker's comic book origins were ignored.  In the context of the film, though it makes sense, since it's a similar theme to Two-Face's origins.

Overall, a great film, worthy of the praise.  Ledger's performance of the Joker was just as IMJ said.  All the actors pulled off top-notch portrayals.  Gonna be hard to top this one.

In my defense, I understood what he meant.  It's not my fault that he couldn't figure out what you meant. Wink

Nolan did a great job on Batman but I wouldn't want to see him on "Avengers."  While both Bat films are among the best comic movies made, they lack a certain playfulness that Iron Man had and Avengers would need to succeed.  The tone established in Iron Man is the kind I want to see in Avengers.  Nolan is great at the dark, gritty atmosphere that Batman thrives in, but that world isn't where the Avengers live.  I'd rather have Favs on the film than Nolan.

Saw it with a friend tonight and I really enjoyed it. Ironically the thing I liked the least was Harvey Dents scarred face; it looked too Army of Darkness/ 80's Night of the Living Dead for my liking.

I thought the Joker was great (a lot better than the Nicholson one). So psychotic yet cunning, definitely like the comic.
